Now we’re bringing you a run of Cherry’s tried-and-true MX Black Switches, designed to provide a buttery-smooth action with a little bit of extra force for heavier typers. Think: Cherry MX Reds, but heavier. Sitting at 60 grams of required actuation force, compared to the MX Red’s 45 grams, these switches are on the higher end of Cherry’s heaviness scale. Plus, thanks to a smooth 4-millimeters of total travel with no discernible bump or click on the way down, they’re an exercise in clean, substantial typing. Like the rest of the Cherry MX lineup, the housing is precision CAD-rendered and molded using a classic plastic polymer and equipped with a precision coil spring to deliver a high-quality, high-reliability experience for heavier typers.
