Man I'm scared about this...
I avoided diving into the mech keys scene because, well, a high-quality product with a well-developed scene is completely addicting to me. Finally though I splurged on a Sense75, and went for barebones. At this point I'm completely in the dark, I had pressed-down only a couple mech-keys ever in my life; In stores, passing-by a friend's that kind of thing. So, understanding the satisfaction of a nice "click" sound, and the reputation of Cherry MX switches, I felt that I should definitely experience the switch that started it all, the baseline if you will.
They come in packs of 70 and that left me with a few switches empty on the Sense75. Luckily, I realized this before I ordered, and found some linear and tactile offerings that I thought I should have on hand (maybe I hate clicky). Remember, I still know very little, and had 0 hands-on experience at this point. Holy Panda seemed to get a lot of attention. Tactile seemed to be the switch I envisioned I would like for gaming, so I got a 35 pack of Drop x Holy Panda Clear. Now I should be covered...but wait! I can't avoid to also consider linear for gaming, can I??? Nay! Bring on the Everglide Aqua Kings!!
I ended up using mostly Cherry MX Blues, but I used the Aqua Kings on W,A,S,D and the arrow keys, along with both Shift keys. I have not played around with my Holy Panda Clears, but I already bought a second mech-keyboard( drop expression keysterine seemed like a solid deal).
All that is to say, I went from 0 to 100 REAL quick. Too quick.
Bought for keyboard I was building for my friend cherry mx rgb blue
Built on portico75 purple with sa solarized
Great clicky switch it helps to build them in a really foamed keyboard with thick sa keycaps to make them sound better but overall they are pretty good clicky switch
Found these switches to be just the ones I was looking for after switching off my razer huntsman with purple switches. Definitely are not switches you'd want for a workspace, as they're a bit clicky, but not nearly as loud as the purple switches.
