"made from a carbon fiber composite"
... I should have paid closer attention... I thought I was getting a carbon fiber comb buy I immediately noticed mould lines on the comb and knew something was amiss...
Sure enough, right there in the product description were the words, "carbon fiber composite." 😕
Had this been crafted from only carbon the fiber the price paid would have been a deal otherwise it's just an overpriced plastic comb.
Again, completely my fault for not being able to read...
SimplebaThanks very much for your feedback. Just two quick points: carbon fiber composites, including the material used to make your combs, are far more expensive than regular plastic (typically 10x more expensive), and the material is far superior in rigidity, heat- and chemical-resistance, etc.
Second, to make a comb of 100% pure carbon fiber would require cutting it from a sheet or block of carbon fiber, which results in sharp edges, and also can introduce structural weaknesses. Please search for "Bastion carbon fiber comb" on this website and read the comments on an all-Carbon Fiber comb sold by another company a few years ago.
We used carbon fiber composite for these combs because it allows them to be shaped into a great ergonomic design while retaining the many amazing attributes of carbon fiber. Thanks again for your feedback.
JL2015This is a great comb, I wasn't trying to be glib in my initial review.
Thanks to COVID I have much longer hair and use the comb much more and it stores very well in the chest pocket of my jacket
If you have a beard, this would be perfect for you as well!!!
SimplebaThanks for the follow-up! Really happy you found a use for the comb in light of these difficult circumstances (we're all overdue for a real haircut!).
