I purchase the EDM version of chord and major earphones. It literally sounded like in ear focal stellia's. If I were to get any one of these I would need that ballad version. But honestly I may be good some of the best iems I've ever heard.

I own the Jazz and Rock versions and love them! I got to listen to all of them and was very impressed. The sounds quality is fantastic and the phones fit nice and tight in the ear, yet very comfortable. I would recommend these to anyone.

I owned the Rock version and they were great for the price... however I paid $60. At 180 it's tough to say if I would still take them. Mid bass was super bloated but an enjoyable sound for kicker earbuds.
I tried the jazz and the sound was very thin and lacking detail. Rock was better by far.

The review Yankeegirl linked to has me confused tho. The review makes it seem the Jazz excels at mids, and World more bass. But the description here seems to describe the Jazz as having a U or V like tuning to it.

I have had the opportunity to listen to all 5 models of the Chord and Major earphones. The build quality and packaging is outstanding. They all sound fantastic with subtle variations in the tonal performance of each model.
I tune sound systems for a living and when a room is tuned correctly the equalization should open the sound up and make it sound clear and natural. Too much emphasis or cut in any frequency can cloud the image and will cause the ears to fatigue. That is what stood out about these earphones all of them simply accentuate and highlight certain aspects of the music but never sound hyped or heavy handed.

Wow, the design for these certainly is beautiful. I wonder how these would handle metal or electronic music? I love the idea that these are created with jazz and/or world music in mind, but it'd be a shame if they didn't perform well outside of those genres. Some googling turned up this HF review for the '13 variants: http://www.head-fi.org/t/671026/review-presenting-the-chord-major-tonal-earphone-collection
