My wife and I have had so much fun playing this game. If you have ever played/like Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective or any of the escape room games, you'll love Chronicles of Crime. It is incredibly immersive because of the VR element. It also does a really good job of adding time as a factor - that's not so say that you have to make quick decisions under time pressure, but time does advance for every place that you visit and every person you talk to. This requires that you think carefully about each move that you do as to not waste your precious time.
Some of the cons I've noticed or read about - I noticed some spelling inconsistencies for names between characters that you talk to. This did not affect that game at all when I played it, but it does make you wonder how much attention to detail they had when putting it together. I did read some comments on how you had to sometimes jump to conclusions that I would consider to be a bit of a stretch; So I understand why some players would be discouraged by this.
Overall, it is a well put together game with new aspects/mechanisms that draw you into the game beyond anything else I've played in this genre before. Highly recommended. Looking for the expansions to be released in the future.
