Pretty decent price and a lot of watch for the money, especially if you prefer a smaller, more traditional sized watch (39mm). Classic field watch good looks/legibility with added chrono functionality, good lume, and solar quartz accuracy and reliability. Sure it has a mineral crystal, but what do you expect for ~$100? Just be sure to budget for a replacement band as the one it comes with isn't great. Those huge grommets mean the sizing isn't very precise, so you'll likely be too tight or too loose.

NotsurewhyibotherActually most of the sub $100 Invicta divers (generally eighty-bucks or less) come with Sapphire crystals, hackable/windable automatic movements (Seiko NH35), and a stainless bracelet. You also get to move up to a 40mm case with a screw-down crown and twice the water resistance (on the 8926OB for example). Of course there's no getting around the fact that the 8926OB is a Diver, and not Chronograph, but I'd argue the automatic movement, additional water resistance and steel bracelet are more valuable features in the long run--particularly for those who view watches in this price range as a work or beater watches (a term I don't care for by the way--I don't mistreat watches). Still if one can't get past the Diver aesthetic and is looking for something with, as you say, in a "classic field watch" look (something this Chandler definitely isn't), there's always the Seiko SNK or SNZG line of field watches. On the other hand, if this is what a 39mm watch does to your wrist:

You have my sympathies and I definitely suggest you stick to the SNK series at a more "classic" (as you keep saying) 37mm size (magnifying glasses sold separately). Meanwhile, for those looking for a no compromise field watch/chronograph combo--and have the manly-man wrists to support it--I recommend my 59mm Oulm Fieldmaster Deluxe with six sub dials, including chronograph, second time-zone, compass, and of course, a thermometer.

Just look at all that functionality--and how about those pushers and crowns!

(and don't believe all that "decoration only" BS, mine all work perfectly--trust me! Oh, and did I mention the price? Yours today for only $13.99 plus shipping--now that's value!
