Thinking I will have to jump on this. I picked up the CJRB Rampart on a drop a little while back, and was VERY impressed for the price. It quickly became my daily carry. In my pocket right now, actually. Hopefully this one is just as good!
Carbon Fiber version is very tempting at this price point, especially for a Canadian buyer (many online US retailers don't ship to Canada, or if they do so, it's with a gouging cost; we don't have many Canadian online retailers with large choices either).
Question: what's the point of getting this knife here on Drop, and had to wait a month to get it for the same price I can get it anywhere else right now and have it shipped to me inmediately?
None that I know of - someone else might have an opinion.
It comes down to 3 things when you order on this site: 1) do you mind (or can) wait for shipping, 2) warranties and returns, and 3) price.
Personally, there is nothing for sale on Drop that I can't wait for, that being said, sometimes the price isn't that great but you have to do your research.
Violin86Because, what you forget is that Drop is not about just American buyers. Drop has many customers in various parts of the world (like me in Canada), and since Drop has unbeatable shipping costs, it makes these purchases compelling and competitive for many buyers outside the USA. Amazon.com and eBay sellers as well as online knives retailers, often charge an arm and a leg for shipping to other places besides the USA.
A recent example is that I was looking for a $54.99 slipjoint on some of these very well known knife retailers, and shipping to Canada was $18 USD and up. So I can tell you with certitude, even if a knife was $15 or even $20 more on Drop compared to say, KnivesShipFree (they don't ship free to the rest of the world by the way, just the US), it would still be way better for me to buy it on Drop.
And seeing that usually Drop's price is the same or a few bucks more than other places, then the knives sold on Drop are an awesome deal for me, and I suspect for many other buyers around the world. So, you just gotta stop thinking about items sold here on Drop as being aimed at just American buyers; this is the online way, the goal for Drop is to sell everywhere.
GEN7252Artisan cutlery is notorious for lock stick; perhaps there is some influence. It stops me looking at this brand. This particular knife is also heavy for it's size.
The CF really is a joke. Zero texture whatsoever. Shame because the rest of the knife is good, the action is great, the blade shape and point are excellent, and centering is spot on. Deep carry clip is also nice, just wish I went with the G10.
The price is nothing to get excited about (and actually, it fuels the ongoing disappointment I feel about Drop's disappearing deals). That being said, it's a nice knife for the price and it has a hidden lanyard hole! How cool is that?
Great price, steel and build. I like that there are several color options and if it weren't for the overall length, I would have bought one yesterday. I hope a 7 inch or smaller version will be available in the future.
Definitely will say should of got g10. Carbon fiber reminds me of something on ganzo knife NG blade is very nice and sharp grinds are good. Overall action is good ahould of had a flipper on it sebenza is the only true thumb stud knife i really enjoy these day's. But the carbon fiber or should i say sticker shouldn't of been an option!!!
