Product Description
Stout and rugged, the CJRB Crag earns its name from its aggressively angled sheepsfoot blade, which looks like something chipped off the side of a boulder. Measuring 3.4 inches long, the blade is made from D2 tool steel for reliability, cut after cut Read More

I've been supremely impressed with both knives from CJRB. This is big with a hefty blade but it's surprisingly balanced. The scales are grippy without being overly so. Blade came extremely sharp and was ground perfectly, the satin finish is good. Action took only a few flicks to settle in, no sign of the pivot loosening yet.

Great little knife.
So, first things first. It may not look like it from the product descriptions but this is a rather hefty, thick little knife. It has a large handle and indexes fairly well. The blade itself is thick, and something akin to competition chopper. That said, the blade was sharp right out of the box, so please be careful. In all, makes for a nice addition to your EDC collection.

CJRB Good budget option work folder or EDC
Im a big fan of Civivi knives so I ordered the CJRB Crag to give artisan cutlerys budget line a chance. I have owned a couple Artisan folders before and while the quality was fine they just didn't fit my personal tastes so sold them off. I own alot of knives (200) so id like to think i know a good one when i see or handle it. The Crag was bought to be a replacement for my Kizer mini sheepdog which is great but too small and the full size is too heavy for EDC. Enter the Crag at 5.4 oz on my scale and while on the upper end is a manageable weight. Its a heavy duty folder with thick liners and thick liner lock with good traction G10 handle scales and solid lockup. I grabbed the gray version which looks nice and the orange pivot collars adds a pop of color and a nice feature on a sub $40 budget folder. The blade is thick BTE but ground pretty evenly and is razor sharp out the box with a good edge. Its a cleaver style blade with a sheepsfoot grind so i wasnt expecting a slicer. The blade is centered, the action and detent are good, and no shaking this heavy blade open. Theres no jimping which is fine and the finger choil is usable. The stonewash finish will hide scratches and wear well. The deep clip is good and buries in the pocket. F+F while not perfect is pretty good for the price point. (G10 not quite flush in a couple spots but minor gripe and again its a budget blade). Overall CjRB offers alot of value for your dollar. Its no Civivi (budget blade gold standard imo) but few budget blades are. Its very affordable though with pretty good steel and G10 and should give many years of service. Its a quality made folder and CJRB would make great work knives or gifts. Overall i would recommend checking one of their folders out and may give the Centros model a chance also which is more EDC size/shaped where the Crag could be EDC'd but for me is gonna be an around the house workhorse beater. I gave it 4 stars as not everything can get 5 but its definitely worth your money. Not bad for Artisan Cutlerys entry into high value low priced folders.

bit overkill for a box opener but oh well
Due to my inexperience with collecting knives all I can say is that I could not be happier with the knife especially for the price. I love how satisfying opening and closing the knife is.

Great knife, fantastic value
One of my first knives was a Benchmade Emerson CQC 7: CPM154 blade, g10 scales, Titanium liner. It was and is great, but it cost me 150 ish dollars in the 90s. This CJRB Crag opens a bit smoother but has only a somewhat less fancy(but still plenty great) steel. It weighs a bit more but has tip up carry which I prefer. Oh and it costs less than 50 dollars!? What a great value! The manufacturing quality of the two pieces seem similar but possibly slightly better on the Crag and I am just amazed. I guess things have come a long way in over 20 years of knife manufacturing. The Crag's liner lock works great and locks up well. The lock has strong tension which I like and won't accidentally unlock when I am twisting it a bit during a carving motion like my Kershaw Cryo does. It's crazy to think I paid only about 10 dollars more for this knife than that Cryo! The action is smooth and even though it's a bit thick and heavy, the deep carry clip keeps it secure in my pocket but doesn't tear up my pants. If you want a fairly chunky knife this is a great choice. Some people might not like the lack of jimping but I thinks it fine. The shape of the handle makes me feel like don't need it and is pretty comfortable. I think it's the best value knife purchase I have ever made by a wide margin.

Knife came sharp and while bulky has become my favorite everyday carry
Usually like a knife with a point and sexier blade but the functionality has really made this my new favorite edc

Solid knife, but probably won't stay in the collection long term
Myself and a friend of mine both bought one of these Crag folders based mostly on the fact that neither of us had a knife quite like this on our collection and the price was very low risk. He opted for the g10 scales, I went for the carbon fiber. I knew this knife was going to be big (which typically doesn't make me shy away) but damn this thing feels pretty chunky in the pocket. The carbon fiber is definitely a nice touch but to be honest I preferred the feeling of the g10 scales after handling both. I can't hold anything against this knife based on the price alone, the quality definitely exceeded what you pay for, It just hasn't been a popular choice in my daily carry. Since it's had such low pocket time I haven't put it through much cutting but the edge was decent out of the box. I don't know how much longer I will hold onto the Crag- It will probably be traded or given away in the future.

Huge but Snappy
Kept this one in the center console in my car throughout the winter, which left the D2 blade with the slightest of pitting. It's a heavy duty blade that arrived somewhere between sharp and "at least it's heavy." The G10 scales offer good grip. Springy pocket clip but with a knife this big, I'm more likely to keep it in my inside coat pocket. Compared to the new and similar Gerber Asada, the action right out of the box here is a big step up - even for a huge blade, the action on the Crag is super smooth and snappy.

Gman4418Own all sorts of knives, USA made , Italian , Taiwan, Japan and China imo each brand i chose seems to takes pride in there work, and most of your USA knives are only designed in the states and made in ,you guessed it...China, sad to see comments like this,is sad , but it's typical of some to be hypocritical in this day and time in making america great again ,wtfe, most things you touch and use in your day to day life, most likely was made in CHINA.. get over yourselves, ive seen same materials on knives out of China at a reasonable prices compared to buying a name and that brand knows its customers and they cater to that crowd because it's they're kind 🙄

An absurdly chunky boi. Don’t get it if you need a tip for puncturing, but as a workhorse knife D2 steel and a good job is nice. Corrosion resistance is there but not perfect (which fits the spec for D2). I’d had to wipe it down with WD40 once or twice after using it for garden related purposes, but it took no damage from the sporting clean-up and the finish of the blade bounced back to pristine.
