Action is smooth, G10 scales are well machined and the texture is in the middle between rough and smooth (good for EDC, won't get caught on things but not optimal for a wet/intense sweaty hands environment. The factory grind is underwhelming, not being sharp enough to shave my arms. The blade finish is a bit rough, with a few scratches and micro dents. It's surprisingly easy to sharpen being D2 steel. Pocket clip is good, hasn't failed me yet. The blade took an hour and a half to patina in an orange soaked in vinegar, and didn't stain at all being left in meat juice for 2 hours. It's a large knife, if you have shallow pockets it might be too big, although I never found it so.
Over all it's a bit rough and needs some touching up by the buyer to be a premium knife. I'm giving it 5 stars due to the price, I believe 4.7 stars to be apt.
I have had this knife (in carbon fiber) for about 3 weeks now and I really l like the quality of it especially for the price. If you want just a nice knife with carbon fiber on the sides I really recommend it.
This knife is better than some that I've paid a lot more for. Great build quality. It's hefty but very comfortable in the hand. Blade is perfectly centered. Balance is quite good. I was really surprised that a $38 knife (with carbon fiber scales) could be this good
Had to immediately disassemble and clean the bearings in this knife. They were full of grit and movement made a crunching sound. Once apart, it's clear there's good attention to detail for everything that can be seen. The internals? Not so much. There are grind marks and burrs in several places. But, they did put care where it matters most. The bearing appears to be ceramic and is in a cage, making disassembly fairly easy. The blade is nicely ground. Threadlock was sloppily-applied to all the screws, necessitating a thorough cleaning. The edge...needed work. Not terrible, but I'd expect better. So, once cleaned up, this knife feels very good. Excellent opening feel, weighted nicely when open. Feels good in my hand. I'd recommend it if you're up for a project.
This knife is large and useful for more than just cutting envelopes open. It is sharp out of the box and has held its edge well through all sorts of handyman tasks. The scales are a bit slippery, but I got used to that quickly.
Kierran169The item I had ordered and never received was a couple of years ago. The package showed delivered, but I never received it. Did you mean to tag tcurtis6984?
It has a very sharp blade and it's over all a solid knife. It has some decent weight to it. There's no issues with rattling or any issues with the locking mechanism. The assisted open works well too. Overall great knife for the price would definitely recommend.
