You’d be hard pressed to find a more fun way to test switches than with CLICKEYbits. In fact, though they were originally developed as switch testers, people loved them so much that they started buying them as fidget toys Read More

Really need an update to work better for what the are advertised for. If you can't change the switches out, it's not actually a tester. It needs to be designed to properly allow multiple insertion and removal, with needed tolerance changes to allow pullers to fit in.
If you can't use it as a proper tester, then advertise as a fidget toy. If you want it to be both, make one that will work as both. A device that can only run numbers is a calculator, not a computer; you only get to call it a computer when it can do more things.
Void2258Hi again Void2258. As we've discussed before we do sell ones where you can switch out the switches, but this drop is for people who want a complete and consistent feel for the clickeybits. In other drops there are three different switches, six different switches, and various DIY configurations.
They work best when you've got all three. Hand one to a coworker, let them try out the switches. Then hand them the next one to feel a completely different kind of switch. Yes, they are fidgety and fun. And as a collection they are absolutely switch testers.
I have one of these and it's impossible to remove the switch. Switch removers don't fit in the damn thing it is infuriating. Personally, this screams terribly designed. Also, the base would have been much better if it was made of aluminum instead of cheap hard plastic although I won't knock it for that since it is advertised as plastic.
PluggedInUse a metal wire keycap puller, not the plastic kind. The spec for keyboard spacing defines the space around each key, so on most keyboards the puller has the margin for the key you're pulling and the margin for the key above/below. So yes, a 1u cap by itself is a tighter fit. The metal wire pullers work just fine.

Also - Yes, we've been tinkering with aluminum. Due to the multi-faced shape with interior gaps, milling is problematic to say the least. 3D printing works but the price is out of control, we're watching for metal 3D print quality improvements and mass production price improvements.
I need the super clicky kind! I need something to fidget with at lunch break since i'm typing on membrane keyboards and want to get some of the f e e l s
We added in the SUPER CLICKY version into the mix for this drop but it looks like the info didn't get added to the Specs section. For those interested it's got six Kailh Navy MX switches.
poodudeI was going to point out the same thing.
Plus, I was assuming these, you could just swap the switches out.
NOPE! They're glued in.
That seems less than ideal.

"TAKING IT APART- SWITCHES
Note that the factory assembled CLICKEYbits have the switches glued down. Don't try to pull them out, it won't go well."
