Got the chair!
First impressions: 1. The seat and backrest foam are perfect. They're not as firm as some of the DXRacers chairs. Kind of reminds of the Racing series but potentially even softer. Lets put it this way, the firmness of the seat is a make or break deal for me personally. This made it, bigly. I just weighed myself and I'm 150lbs. I thought I was 160lbs a week or so ago but it seems I lost some weight. Even at my weight (height is 5'9") this foam seat is perfect.
2. The tilt lock feature is a welcomed function. It's not available on most gaming chairs I've reviewed. Typically they were only found on the larger/largest size(s) which cost at least $200 more than this. And I don't just mean locking the seat from rocking period. I mean tilting the seat to your desired angle and locking it there. Rare feature in most gaming chairs.
3. Build quality is superb. Thankfully I had zero damage to any part on this chair....except maybe one, which if it is damaged (or "unintended"?) it's actually a welcomed "defect". The foam on the backrest is not secured to the backrest except for at the top and at the bottom. This pretty much allowed me to wrap the lumbar strap around the back insert holding it in place perfectly. This is actually how some DXRacers have their lumbar's attach on some of their larger chairs. Perhaps a re-design @Clutch Chairz ? I've attached a pic to illustrate what I'm referring to. You'll see my hand pull the backrest insert forward.
4. The seat bolsters are fantastic. I can not push down and feel any steel at all. Just cushion. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased this chair and what turned me off from other gaming chairs. I can sit all spread eagle without issue.
5. One thing I do wish is that the seat was perhaps 1" wider. Keep in mind I am coming from an old staples office chair where the seat width is roughly 21.5 inches. This one I measured at 19" (full width, not just the seat part between the seat bolsters). I'll just need to adjust to it, not a major gripe by any means and would definitely not deter me from purchasing this chair had I been able to test drive it somewhere prior to purchase.
6. Now, in 2 of the pics I show the up/down lever (right side of chair) where the text FREE - LOCK - UP OR DOWN appears. I can not use push this in or pull it out. It seems this is exclusively used to adjust the gas lift up & down. But, since the text appears on the lever cover it's definitely confusing. Is this just an old style lever and this is why the text is still there even though it only has one function, raise/lower the chair? I don't know so I'm hoping @Clutch Chairz can answer that for me :)
The lever on the left side of the chair does provide the tilt lock/tilt angle lock so it would seem redundant that both performed the same function. Unless! It is supposed to provide another function which unfortunately mine does not? Again I shall await word from Clutch Chairz to clarify.
7. The lumbar cushion is much narrower (depth) than the typical gaming chair lumbar supports and I find it much softer as well. The height is pretty much perfect for my body type/size.
8. Pillow is also much softer than typical gaming chair head rests.
Overall: VERY impressed with this chair so far. First impressions mean a lot and this one nails it. 100% satisfied with this chair. Thanks to both @Clutch Chairz and Massdrop @B.Hutch for this great chair at a fantastic price that saved me roughly $72 CAD (calculated using a 15% discount code applied to their standard price)!

Joey0Joey, Thank you so much for your detailed review of this product. Super stoked for you and the chair looks great with your setup too! To answer one of your questions, the back support is supposed to come out like that so the lumbar support cushion strap can wrap around behind it and then you can move it up/down to your liking and the cushion will actually stay in place. It is a redesign that they are going through.
I will let Clutch Chairz answer your other question about the lever and its purpose.
Cheers.

Tex-ArozziMy pleasure bud. Well deserved *thumbsup*
My setup is definitely complete now, this chair brought it all together. Thanks for the remark :D
Also, thanks for clearing up the back support question. Definitely an appreciated re-design. I'm sure others who receive this will enjoy it as well.

If you could kindly address the question in my main post regarding the lever on the right side of the chair, that would be appreciated. If I need to send a support email please let me know to which address.
Thanks in advance! :)

Joey0Gonna tag team on your post because I agree with almost everything stated here. I have a few things I'd change/add though: 1- There are some quality control issues that while not crippling to me because I'm not an overly critical person but to others they'd be a bit off putting. Mine arrived with one of the side plastics cracked, and the metal where the base mechanism mounts to was oddly textured, like it was unfinished and just painted over. Again, nothing deal breaking but just note worthy.
2- Lumbar cushion is outstanding, though the head/neck pillow was much harder than the one on my DXracer (which is cloth I should add, dunno how the non-cloth ones feel.)
3- I LOVE the fact the base for the chair is not just fully metal, but also with 3 inch casters. Even though my floor is currently concrete (soon to be epoxied over) still a very nice touch, rolls very well on carpet.
Just for comparison sake, my old chair was the DXRacer FD01 (F Series) cloth chair. Everything the F series has except the cover is cloth, which I think is still really nice. In colder rooms, it'd still be comfortable to sit in if you're like me and sit at your desk in cold temperatures.

ZelgiusthebraveI should have clarified that the headrest for me was softer than a GT Omega Pro's that I had but returned due to the side bolsters being too restrictive (by the way, shout out to GT Omegas customer support, top notch).
I did try the DXRacer's pillows when I visited their showroom in Mississauga Ontario but not long enough for an accurate (or fair) comparison.
A week later now and this chair just gets more comfy. I do wish the seat was an inch wider and perhaps an inch deeper but definitely not a deal breaker in terms of whether I'd purchase it otherwise.
I love that the lumbar pillow conforms to your body but then returns to its original shape once you get off the chair. I suppose very similar to memory foam as B.Hutch mentioned.

Joey0Seems there's one downfall that I'm just now discovering after sitting in this chair an extended period now. The chair depth doesn't support my thighs in full and the associated discomfort is slowly starting to reveal itself. The pressure in the front edge of the seat where it drops down is being applied about 1-.5 to 2 inches behind where my knee joint bends down and it starting to cause some severe discomfort. I tried it without the lumbar cushion but unfortunately the straight back offers no support without it.
Unfortunately this means my quest for a gaming chair continues. 2 down....a gazillion to go...I need to win the lotto just to support my gaming chair purchasing extravaganza :O lol Mind you I was able to return the first one for a full refund, so that was just a wash. My smaller sized sister will inherit this one once I find a suitable replacement. She absolutely loves it.

Clutch ChairzHello and thank you for the kind responses, much appreciated :)
I have not tried the Throttle, unfortunately.
I just recently got word from DXRacer's support that you guys are becoming (or have become?) a distributor for them out of your Toronto warehouse. Will you guys be making a show room available there to test out chairs? If so I definitely wouldn't mind making a trip to Toronto to try them out. I'm about an hour away.
My height is 5'9 and my weight fluctuates between 150-160, strange metabolism lol The seat is actually great without the lumbar but unfortunately after trying it without I started getting back pain since the back is just flat. Definitely need to use the lumbar cushion.
Edit: I just checked the dimensions of the Throttle and unfortunately the depth of the seat (letter J on the dimensions diagram from the USA website) is identical to the Shift :( 570mm or 22.44 inches.
Thanks again for the kind responses. :)

Joey0Hi Joey! I hope you are able to get in touch with our customer support team.
We have no affiliation with DXRacer and we unfortunately do not have a showroom in Toronto.
In terms of a chair a Gear Series should fit you well because it does have a longer seatpan than a Crank. How is your Shift currently treating you?

Clutch ChairzAbsolutely love it aside from wishing the seat depth was 1 inch deeper. But, that excluded, very comfortable chair overall that doesn't sacrifice quality :) No regrets at all about purchasing it and I'd definitely recommend it to others who aren't as concerned about seat depth as I am. I'll check out the dimensions of the Gear series.
I'm a software developer and gamer so my "behind" is perched on my computer chair for extremely lengthy periods of time so I tend to not compromise much when it comes to long term comfort. Once I find a replacement my sister will be getting this. It fits her, and her sitting style, perfectly. She doesn't know yet so it'll be a nice surprise for her :)
Strange about the DXRacer mixup. This is the email they sent me earlier today:
"We are in the process of opening up lots of new resources in Canada!! I wanted to provide the contact information for the new warehouse that is located in Ontario, so you can reach them if you should have any questions or concerns: You would just need to forward this message on to them and I wanted to provide all of their contact information:

Joey0So just checked out the dimensions of the Gear and it's seat depth is less than the Shift. So far the others I've been looking at with deeper seats are the DXRacer King series and AKRacing ProX.
