Seems like a decent price on a knife for a change, especially for that steel. I like the looks of the tanto but not a fan of the serrations or the tri-ad lock.

ponagathosI was thinking the same thing but found a sharpener for cold steel serrations at http://lansky.com/index.php/products/cold-steel-knife-sharpener/ for a pretty low price so I pulled the trigger.

ponagathosThe Code 4 I got during the last drop triad lock is not difficult at all... not like most of my other Cold Steel knives. It is not a thumb buster, even if I flick the blade open with some force.. still easy to operate.

SDaughertyI am lazy in general. I received a worksharp for my birthday last year. I do not think I want to go back to manual sharpening.

ScottieGI wonder if that holds true to the Code 4 in general or you got lucky? With my Benchmade, Spyderco and Kershaw knives, I can open, cut and have it back in my pocket in seconds. I can not do that smoothly or consistently with my Cold Steel knives.

ponagathosI just added one of those to my Amazon wish list 5 minutes ago. I don't blame you.

ponagathosI am not sure. I have several of those budget Cold Steel ProLite that were on clearance at MidwayUSA for $15, and if I flick the blade open on one of them, I have to tap the release on the edge of the table to be able to close it. At this price, I would simply tune the knife some with a diamond file, being careful not to take off too much nor fix where it did not have the issue.
Also, as with my Cold Steel Recon 1 knives, the blade swings freely once the lock is released. Now, I catch the blade on the non-sharpened base, but it took several times getting cut before I adapted. Also Cold Steel has some strong springs and if you fail to properly open one, it comes back with some force.
