Ok so you have a mini, half gladius in s35, why does the tan cost more than od they are I guess good prices but the only jack up in price seems to come with a different steel (CTS-XHP) not the color of the g10 https://www.bladehq.com/?search=immortal
RudolphThe OD Green with CTS-XHP was discontinued. As far as I can tell, both of these versions on DROP are with the CPM-S35VN steel (I could be wrong). So, the price differences must be due to demand? Except that the price difference is in the opposite direction on Amazon for the S35VN colors, and there's no price difference on BladeHQ for the S35VN colors. It all seems arbitrary.
I think the difference in steels is negligible. While the CTS-XHP has slightly better edge-retention, CPM-S35VN has somewhat better corrosion resistance. Both are important. Both steels are great in these characteristics. I think the differences are balanced out (very much an opinion here!).
The difference between the the best prices for the XHP OD Green and the S35VN Coyote Tan is 34 bucks. While I would prefer the OD Green in XHP, I think spending $34 less on the Coyote Tan in S35VN is a no-brainer.
Here's the latest rundown (bold = best price):
DROP = OD Green (S35VN) $100, Coyote Tan (S35VN) $102
Amazon = OD Green (w/XHP) $118, (S35VN) $115.84, Coyote Tan (S35VN) $84
BladeHQ = OD Green (w/XHP) $129.95, (S35VN) $124.95, Coyote Tan (S35VN) $124.95
