I've had issues trusting cold steel since the whole san mai incident back a few years ago https://knifenews.com/san-mai-trademark-cold-steel-issues-open-letter-to-the-knife-community/ so I'm more likely to look skeptically on their products and the company as a whole, but this one is a head scratcher to me this kind money for a lower quality steel not usually associated with knives vg1 http://www.e-tokko.com/v_gold_1.php?lang=en just don't know.

Come on Massdrop or Drop... How about the Pendleton in 3V or the Master Hunter....the SRK...

All the usual (but pertinent) comments about Drop's pricing lately aside..... Can someone explain to me what makes this 3.5" VG1 knife worth $250 in the first place? Seems a bit steep, but maybe I'm missing something important? Point of reference : I paid $75 for a CS SRK in VG1 (6" blade). Clearly this is a fancier knife, with more grinding and polishing, and a more expensive handle....but $175 more expensive??

KavikThat's not Drop's fault. This is part of the Cold Steel "premium" line. They charge insane prices for a bit of polish and buffing. They've always done this. I wanted this...until I saw the price. It's a stupid price for a nice knife.

LX_EmergencyYeah, was saying I know that part isn't Drop's fault (hence the "aside") Glad I'm not the only one though, who doesn't understand the value the manufacturer is putting on this one

If I can buy this for approx. $18 cheaper on Amazon and have it here free in two days, what is my advantage to buying through Drop? Am I missing something?

I’m new to drop and I’m not clear on the “new management”. I’m still learning the site. I’ve only bought 2 items so far in the few months of me logging in. one took about a week to receive. I didn’t have high expectations for the product so I really wasn’t disappointed. The second item I won’t receive for up to a month 🤦‍♂️ I could’ve paid more possibly at amazon and received it in a day or two. With anything nowadays you just gotta do your homework before you “drop” your hard earned cash.
