I’ve bought about seven of these for all the cars in the family and as gifts. I pull the head off, sand the handle and linseed oil it. Then I put a hole in the handle, put a loop of paracord for a wrist safety. Next comes a sharpening of the sides, pretty easy to sharpen them. Lastly, I’ll wrap the sheath with about 40’ of thinner paracord. For what you can do with it for $40, (regular retail) it’s a great price. For $16, sheath included, that’s a freaking steal. Buy a few, you won’t be disappointed.

ChuckC833 Very creative and a good idea--I assume you live where it snows, or at least gets muddy?

ChuckC833 I that case I see absolutely NO reason for you to have even one of these dangerous shovels, let alone one for each member of your family!
