High-Carbon CPM 3V Steel, Classic Tanto Shape
We tallied the votes in the Medium Sized Fixed Blades poll, and Cold Steel’s 3V Master Tanto came out on top. In addition to the Master Tanto, we’re offering five other variations of this combat knife. Each knife in the drop features a tanto blade, which is essentially a shortened samurai sword. Originally designed to pierce armor, the tanto has a long, straight edge and a secondary edge with a high point and flat grind. Cold Steel’s tanto is made from CPM 3V steel—a high-carbon steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, which is designed to hold an edge in situations where chipping and breakage are common. And for maximum grip, the handles are ergonomically shaped.

Recon Tanto
Used in various military conflicts around the world, and steadily becoming the preferred fixed-blade option for US SWAT teams, the Recon Tanto features a curved 7-inch blade with DLC coating for stealth. Made from Kray-Ex, the handle offers a diamond pattern for grip.
Master Tanto
Shaped like a katana, the Master Tanto features a 6-inch blade with non-reflective DLC coating to help maintain a low profile. The tapered Kray-Ex handle has a diamond pattern for a secure grip, and a blade guard at the base of the blade protects the fingers from the edge during use.
Magnum Tanto II
The Magnum Tanto II is outfitted with a wicked 7.5-inch blade—small enough to wield with precision, but large enough for heavy-duty jobs. The handle’s collar prevents fingers from sliding into the edge, and the Kray-Ex handle provides a secure grip in wet and hot conditions.
Magnum Tanto XII
Sporting a massive foot-long blade, the Magnum Tanto XII excels in combat scenarios. Shaped like a classic katana, its long, curved blade is easy to control with one hand, and the tapered Kray-Ex handle offers a stable grip thanks to the diamond pattern.
