Ok so I've seen a lot of DAPs on this site, none of which at such a low price point. It looks attractive and seems to have the necessary bells and whistles I'd normally look for. Does anyone want to volunteer to crash my party and tell me what the catch is?
The catch is its old and has a really basic display (small, only displays two lines of text, feels awkward when trying to browse large library's). Limited audio format support. Uses a touch interface, it can be a little awkward to turn the button lock on/off. Personally I love the size, shape, and weight; it just feels really comfortable to hold and operate. Sounds pretty good.
"quiet pops between tracks" - this is what drove me to a get new DAP a couple of years ago, but it might have been fixed in a firmware update more recently.... not sure, will have to look into that. Despite not really using it much any more I can't bare to give it up, it works well and is elegant in its simplicity.
Seems like no real deal breakers in there, but I can see the pops getting annoying. Can I ask which DAP you got to replace it?
Fiio X3, the first version before the wheel. Also not bad, doesn't look as nice as the c3 but is much easier to navigate and supports more audio formats. Unless you can find a second hand 1st gen, the 2nd gen X3 is roughly twice the price of this drop. It would be worth reading some of the reviews and skimming through recent forum posts for the C3, find out what issues people are having and if they have been resolved.
hello waywardson i am looking for a good DAP. what is the difference between the 1st and 2nd gen x3?
