I received my pen Yesterday. I am pretty disappointed in the quality compared to the pictures Massdrop provided. The material appears to be pitted and inconsistent. Maybe that is normal? I didn't see anything like that on the listed pictures though.

seancorderI got the grey sleeve filler (stub nib) and mine didn't have anything like that, just a nice smooth finish.

seancorderThanks for pointing this out - the finish on mine is the same. I ordered the grey sleeve filler with a stub nib and the senior in mocha and was just able to open the package yesterday. I was so dismayed by the nib on the sleeve filler that I didn't notice the 'pitted' look of the pen. The stub nib is not set up properly. The mocha senior does not have a problem with the finish, but it's nib may be slightly off center. This is extremely poor quality control. I'll post some pics of mine later. I am interested to know whether others have received the grey pen with a poor finish and an off center nib.

I am interested in the sleeve-filler in black and fine point, but I am hoping that it will have the duo-tone nib with the gold logo. Is that a thing? Also, can anyone characterize the line from the fine point, is it very fine, like a Pilot, or more of a Montblanc fine-that-could-pass-as-a-medium fine, or something in between?

TiffanyPoodleslideas to how messy to fill the pen, it's not messy at all if the pen's bladder is in good shape on the button pusher version. However, mine has started leaking and I suspect my pen's bladder has been breached after a month of use. I got the mocha push button.

These are great. I have had no problems either of with mine. They both work great and did so right out of the box. Totally recommended.

I got mine today. Ordered the Sleeve Filler. It took a bit of work to get it writing properly (kept railroading or going dry) but now it's writes beautifully!

Bulk order shipped! The vendor informed us that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse in New Jersey. Based on the tracking provided, the order is scheduled to arrive on 10/11.

It's going to be my first Conklin. Just wonder between the side button filler and sleeve filler, which one is more likely to run into problem?
