Review on pen: inner sleeve separated from the outer barrel. There is no glue at all on it--it was just held in there with a little tension, so the pen comes apart when the cap is removed. Useless. Pretty but useless. I thought Conklin made quality pens, so maybe they just forgot a step manufacturing this one. (Conklin Herringbone Rollerball pen, Deep Sea Blue CK71005)

i have read up on this pen and seen several issues with quality. Pen falls apart quick and is made of inferior materials???

I would be grateful if you could share the information you found. It appears that a few Conklin Herringbone fountain pens are available on ebay at a ridiculously lower price - so I am wondering if the inferior pens you mentioned are fake or clones. I guess Massdrop would be a more reliable source for these pens.
Nonetheless, it is looking more and more likely that this drop would not be successful. I would really like to see this drop again in the future, when fewer competing products are listed on Massdrop.

Will this take any other kinds of refills besides the Parker/Monteverde? I haven't found many reviews for this pen, but maybe someone with one can help.

So is this a click type or twist pen , or is this a cap type pen? If you look at the smaller photos under main pic the last pic looks like a "cap" pen?

NomadThis is a twist ballpoint pen - the last pic is to show the entire Herringbone collection, which is also available as a rollerball pen and a fountain pen (but these options are not offered in this drop).

Dear Massdrop,
(1) I have committed to two pens, but two sets of 6-pack Monteverde gel ink have been automatically added to my drop. I can't choose NOT to have the 6-pack, as there is no such option. Please take a look.
(2) I would really, really like to choose the Deep Sea Blue option. Could you get the vendor to offer that as an option?

Is the Slate Gray available..?? I can select it for some reason in this drop. But the description says its not available.

Best damn writing instrument I've ever laid my hands on. This thing is worth its weight in gold! The only thing I regret is not getting the other colors from this collection...
