Fine
overall an ok pen. The nib is a flex nib that writes well. The only criticism I have is that the magnetic closure starts to rust and flake which makes the cap less secure. Would not recommend if you live in a humid environment. There are better pens for the cost such as Lamy, Italix, or TWSBI.

High maintenance; okay otherwise
I got the blue version in F. Been using it for a while now, with Montblanc ink. As a reference, I'm currently using an Omas in M and an AG Spalding in F. I switch between these and a couple of Sheaffer snorkel pens, Montblanc, Montegrappa, etc. Ink varies between the Montblanc, Diamine and Iroshizuku. The Conklin looks pretty good out of the box; the colour is pretty much as expected from the pictures. The fit and finish could be better. The clip is functional but doesn't look very good. The cap is held on by a magnet and there was a gap when it arrived. I had to push and twist quite a bit to seat it into the cap properly. Filling the pen was straightforward. Lots of air bubbles on the first piston filling, and none on the 2nd time, so good seal inside for the mechanism. Better than my Omas. With the montblanc ink, it writes well, with clear lines even upside down. Pressing hard gives some variation but not very much (about what I expect from a SS nib). Weight wise, it doesn't balance well in my hand. Seems a bit short without the cap, and way too heavy at the back with the cap posted. Biggest issue is that it isn't air tight. I was away for a week, leaving the pen on my table, horizontal. When I came back, it wouldn't write at all. The ink had dried up in and on the nib. Interestingly, the ink had also run out (it seems) and pooled on the side of the nib and dried there. The pen travels to and from work in a pen case together with my other pens. So the same jostling and vibration for all of them. But only the Conklin perennially has ink pooled on the nib when I uncap it.
