To be honest... this bag is absolutely beautiful. The color and the generous and simple design is unlike most leather bags I've seen. I actually like the fact that it is soft leather and that it crunches up into a sack rather than retaining a rigid form. That kind of gives it a much more casual feel. Also, while walking, the softness helps absorb impact upon your hips and waist rather than having it flop around your body as you walk.
HOWEVER.... given the fact that it is $25 more than the previous drop (which was already pricey IMO), I can't justify purchasing it no matter how badly I want it on my shoulders. Seems like a money grab from how popular the drop was before and taking advantage of it. I'm glad this pushed many hopefuls away seeing how little commitment there is.

mokkzzzSay what you will about 'money grabs', but we're seeing a lot of leather companies increase their prices in response to soaring leather/beef costs.

"In the US, he explains, the price of American Texas Streer (the most predominant hide) jumped 17.4% between 2012 and 2013 - and so far this year, in just three months, has soared another 9.7%."

I bought one of their bags 18 months ago and granted things may have changed since then. But, I wouldn't bother with Copper River bags. I bought their Manhattan laptop messenger and the '100% full grain' leather is so soft and thin that the bag hangs like a sack on it's straps. It does not maintain a bag-like shape - in fact, it can easily be scrunched up in to a ball. Try doing that with a Saddleback bag.
Here are just a few comments from recent copper river bag owners...
Great Leather Posted by Unknown on 21st Feb 2014 I just received my bag and love the leather and workmanship. I'm very happy with quality and styling at a very reasonable price
Amazing Posted by DP on 19th May 2014 You guys are truly artists....beautiful....beyond words..
Another great purchase Posted by Unknown on 22nd May 2014 We needed a new backpack for our youngest - the old one, bought at a big box store, was falling apart after a year of use. Having bought a Copper River nylon duffel I knew where to go. We received the bag the other day and it's just as we expected – beautiful and well-built. We expect a much longer lifespan out of this bag since we've had such great luck with Copper River so far.

I did more reading about the company and seems like the quality of the workmanship is really inconsistent (crocked stitches, fuzzy edge, missing clasp etc...). Also some ppl have complained about customer service on reddit... i mean its good that these bags have a 100 yr warranty but what good is a warranty if customer service is spotty? I was gona grab one but now i'm not so sure at this price... anyone happy/unhappy with their bag?

If this is a massdrop exclusive style, how do we know we are saving anything? We have nothing to compare the price to, because you can't buy it anywhere else. For all we know it is more cheaply made in order to hit a lower price point and appear like a good deal.
I'll pass.

Fellow Canadians: while the shipping is mighty expensive, this is exactly the same shipping cost as offered through Copper River's own website. What this drop essentially amounts to is a free "Leather Strap" upgrade (by default their bags come with an interlaced cotton strap). If you want the leather strap, get it here on Massdrop. If you don't care about the strap, you may be able to find it cheaper on Copper River's website. Either way, the product is NAFTA-compatible and you will (most likely) only have to pay taxes + handling at the border (15% for me in Quebec + a 10$ fee charged by Canada Post) if this is shipped using the usual USPS service. All in all, expect this bag to cost you 40$ more than advertised.

Since there's no mention of it, I assume the bag isn't TSA compliant.
