MrBean"Be forewarned, however: these hooks will not support your body weight and should not be used for climbing or other self-hoisting applications." Obviously not!

This reminds of of a small tool a doc used on me about a week after I had a weekend of wild, crazy unprotected sex (it was the early 70's, hey) in my freshman year in college. I woke up one morning and couldn't urinate. I went to Health Services and the doc used something similar to this tool (it felt much larger) on me and they could hear my screaming all the way into the waiting area. Peed blood for a week after that.
This is a public service message - do not try this at home! (The tool or unprotected sex.)
Maybe this could be used as a very kinky sex toy? I thin I know a very tall, hot German lady who might be into it -

In the video he mentions something about being used to set off IED's
edit- from the website "The pocket grappling hook was originally built by EOD Robotics, Inc. at the request of a desert warfare operator. He explained his need for a light weight, reusable grappling hook that could be used to snag trip wires or command detonation wires on IEDs in a combat environment. Soon other members of the military saw how useful they were and ordered another production run. "

ZaneI can see the use in such environments, but downtown big city I doubt you'll find many IED's. :)

it's mostly for camping, pulling down dead branches to camp under with peace of mind, or to get firewood easier. Can also be used to shake branches with stuck drones as another user commented. Pretty much a novelty. I'd find myself hanging around drone spots hoping to show it off. Not much use for a downtown big city as you mention, except for fishing keys out of drains or stealing hats, bags and wigs from the safety of a rooftop.

For getting cats out of trees of course. Lol Kidding. For grabbing limbs to pull down, as a leader to drag a heavier cord for scaling that wall, or pulling a cooler of food over a limb to avoid bears. Grabbing loose rope in water, crab fishing style. Dragging a sandy bottom lake/pond for sunken tresure. Dam fishing, to hook fish as they go out the shoot. A snare for parameter security Or simply for throwing for fun. :)
