I don't carry a knife, so it comes in useful. Even if you do carry a knife, this can be useful to reach tight spots that require leverage that might damage a blade. I have used it to pry back a stuck latch, open packages, and pry nails or screws that have become embedded too deep. Also used as a screwdriver and an infinite number of other times in the field. Love just reaching in to my pocket and solving a problem without having to reach for a toolbox or resorting to damaging blades.

rossoneriAs you can see, EDC = a bunch of boys who carry around trendy, inefficient tools in case they find any remote opportunity that they can flaunt them. Look how cool I am, I use a pocket knife every time I need to slice bread. It's soooo convenient to carry around this pry bar, I use it at any opportunity I can! Why be tied down to a tool box or use normal tools when I can carry around 5 lbs of miniature titanium hipsterism on my keychain?

zoomorphYour reply actually made me laugh because I was at a restaurant the other day and the serrated knife they gave me with my lunch - open face steak & cheese baguette - was crap.
I am pretty far from being a "hipster".......but I was able to pull out a CF Spyderco Caly 3 that I had on me and correct the lack of a good knife in being able to actually cut my sandwich into bite sized pieces that didn't butcher my sandwich.
I also have a mini pry bar on my keychain and it has been invaluable at times ......especially dealing with any staples.

TasselhoffProbably thinks he's being edgy, when really he's just another idiot complaining about stuff on a product page.

zoomorphI can see your point. A lot of people do take EDC a bit overkill. I've seen some people carry 3 knives which is absolutely redundant. However that said, one sharp and durable Spyderco is very useful for a lot of situations. I don' t usually take mine out at restaurants since it scares the fuck out of fellow Canadians (no offence, I'm Canadian). :D However, just last week, I was at a Chinese restaurant and they give me a plastic container and had a gap half-enclosed (wasn't carved out correctly) and a simple slit from my knife did the trick. So it really depends on the person, I only have a Titanium carabiner on me, definitely not all 5lbs of hipsterism. LOL
