Inspired by the traditional Japanese kiridashi utility knife, this handmade desktop accessory is nice to admire and to use. Cut from solid brass with a large flat grind, the knife comes in handy for opening boxes and letters, scoring materials, prying open packaging, and more. Over time, as the knife is exposed to air and oils from the skin, it will develop a patina unique to you. To complement it, you can add a concrete plinth stand in black or white. As each piece is made to order by hand, there may be slight imperfections and variations.
Note: At checkout, you can add a concrete plinth stand in black or white for (+ $35). Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Drop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
Well-designed products tell a story about their creation and potential. For Craigill, that story began in 2015, when the New York design company opened its doors to shine a light on the magic of the world around us through clever, thoughtfully designed physical objects. Specializing in desktop accessories, pocket tools, and other metal curios, Craighill designs products that spark a sense of wonder, and are informed by the specific capabilities of its manufacturing partners. Not a piece leaves the shop that doesn’t live up to the company’s tight tolerances, and not a piece feels overlooked.
