Bought this with the matching concrete stand and am very pleased with the item. As expected, it has a nice solid feel due to the weight. The blade portion at the front is sharp. The only minus - which I'm not rating down for since the pictures clearly show the shape - is that it cannot double as a letter opener. This is a really well made functional item to display on your desk.
Good but personally I wouldn't buy the additional base it's something that might take an extra minute Everytime you use it to set properly. If someone like me that opens numerous boxes a might get annoying but opens boxes well
The design of both the "knife" and the plinth are very cool, great weight and look. However this really isn't much of a knife and is definitely not a practical letter opener, which is what I assumed for a "desk knife". The knife portion is not that sharp, and as a letter opener the blade is just way too short. Also the tip of the point was already bent when it arrived.
The stand and the knife look fantastic, but their actual use leaves room for improvement. The blade isn't really sharp, so it doesn't really become a go-to opener.
Was excited to get this one, maybe for use int he shop or whatever, but like the other reviewer here, mine arrived today and the tip is completely bent and curled over. I'm guessing it bent during shipping, so Craighill really needs to find a better way to pack these things. Pretty disappointed.
