BennnI like the E1 a lot. The diference with this one is the Bluetooth capability. But for on the go the E1 so far is my choice for iems. E5 is more for desktop. So all depends how you plan to use it but the Ex family its good.

BennnE5 has better DAC and Amp, Bluetooh 4.1 low energy and aptX low lantency (a must for Windows 8.1 phone which doesn't have USB OTG, and also many Android phones have USB OTG issues with E3/E5). Size is like a 2x thickness cell phone, large but still portable.
E3 is smaller than half of E5, see the link below http://www.toptengamer.com/sound-blaster-e5-dac-review-vs-e3-vs-e1/ so if better portability is needed, E3 might be a better choice.
I use E5 with Lumia 1020 phone and also as DAC for my laptop (to a Bravo V3). You actually can have both Bluetooth (phone) and DAC (computer) connected and mixed to the output. One nice thing I notice is there is no sound issue even the computer is under heavy workload, probably because it supports asynchronous USB mode (not sure for E3, it's not mentioned in E3's description). My previous USB Cubik speakers have a lot of issues when the computer is under heavy load.
