Battery issues
Started having battery charge issues outside of the warranty period rendering the device pretty much useless unless always plugged in. It's been pretty useful in my work from home setup since there's numerous inputs/outputs but it kind of defeats the purpose of having a portable/mobile amp.

Great device, but the battery issue is a deal breaker
I don't suggest buying this thing unless you can get it for like $50 or so. That would probably be worth the trouble once the battery is swollen, in fact, I'd remove the battery as soon as it goes out of warranty. Creative should fix the PCB design (so it can work without a battery), the battery issues, upgrade to Bluetooth 5 and release a new version. It seems for mobile DAC/AMPs you are better off with Fiio and similar brands that expertise in this niche.

It has served me well for a long time, love the fact that it just does everything, dac, amp, bluetooth, mic in. Are there better quality things out there? Sure; but as far as I know, none at this price range.

Do everything
The Creative Soundblaster is a true do everything God. The headphone amplifier and DAC offers exceptional power and sound quality. The software suite offers exceptional versatility and the bluetooth feature is a true audio blessing. A must have item to be taken everywhere with you.

I should have known better to stay away from Sound Blaster products. I've replaced Sound Blaster PC cards because of dissatisfaction and this foray into a portable amp was no better. I was very allured by the idea of simulated surround sound for watching streaming services on my iPad. I was using it with Sony MDR-Z1R because of the Sony's very good passive sound isolation - both outside in and inside out. Just plugging the Sony's directly into the iPad sounded so much better for both music and video streaming. How can that be? An external DAC/amp for a couple hundred bucks should sound better, but no. I tested with some other headphones and it was the same result. I don't use this product anymore and I think it's so bad that I don't even want to give it away. That wouldn't be kind. If you're an audiophile just steer clear of Sound Blaster.

definitely good at its price point, powerful enough to run most low to mid end studio phones and is also portable with a built in battery. that battery though will be the end of your device. it doesn't have any backfeed protection or current limiting, so a surge in power or accidental polarity switch will burst the battery and bubble up the casing. its a fair trade off ending in a neutral outlook with a hard "ehh" when telling people about it. great audio with phenomenal control, but the battery is cheaply installed and unprotected. there are also driver issues but thats literally every sound card on the market.

Great device that lasted for around 10 months when I noticed battery getting swollen and slowly tearing apart the casing. Upon contacting Massdrop and Creative both denied to honor the warranty since I am international customer. Other US users reported having same issue a year later after getting device repaired/replaced first time. This DAC doesn't last longer than 12 months because Creative decided to cheap out on the battery. And they know about the issue hence minimum 1 year product warranty in US and 30 days for international customers. Removing battery renders device unusable. Also disassembling device requires tearing off bottom anti slip pad and it doesn't come off clean.
