Just a note for anyone who had troubles like I did expecting the device to work immediately; I downloaded the creative software suite from the creative website and after that my E5 DAC worked perfectly.

We've made several firmware changes and the units may not be flashed to the most current firmware upon receipt. So make sure to update when you receive yours!
