I've been playing with this after charging overnight. Still can't figure out how to stop the unit from charging my phone when connected via usb.
That said, this thing loves being paired via Bluetooth vs cables; A lot more options available. Anyway, sound is decent playing FLAC via USB or Bluetooth, although it seems similar enough to the Xperia Z3's DAC. Crystalizer shouldn't be used if you have decent headphones, at least limit at 20%. Equalizer is kind of useless for me so far; the music sounds great natural with a little bit of power added.
Lots of options here, I'm very happy.

I believe that you use the micro USB to not enable the charging feature.

Only way to connect to this without charging your phone is to use a USB OTG cable to connect to the micro USB input rather than the full sized USB. Then on my Note 4, the only way to play music that way is to use This app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudioplayerpro&hl=en
because it has it's own built in driver, my Note 4 won't work through the SB app through USB OTG. Other phones may act differently as they may have properly implemented drivers, it definitely depends. The large USB connection relies on a certain API that requires charging so there is no way around this going that way. Kind of sucks. I use these cables:

Are you running Lollipop? Android had no standard support for USB audio before it.
