The Creative E5 and FiiO E18 are both excellent portable amps, but the E5's superior feature set is undeniable: optical in/out, microphones, real-time customizable sound (via an app), dual headphone jacks, and it can act as a low-latency Apt-x Bluetooth receiver. I've directly compared their sound, and the E5 is noticeably cleaner. As far as I could determine, the only advantages the E18 has over the E5: a metal enclosure, thinner design, and physical Play/Pause & Forward/Back buttons.

mattrisLet's not forget that E18 can only handle files up to 24bit, 96 kHz, while E5 can decode up to 24bit, 192kHz files. I have a lot of FLAC files with 24/192 format, and E5 is definitely better.
