View Full Discussion Hey there everyone,
Just a heads up to all who have bought in on the E5 during our drops that we've made some adjustments to the power management and battery management in the firmware of the device.
We have a new firmware available on our support pages at Creative.com where we have new code that will work better for people that are pushing the limits of battery power.
We previously had the battery initiate a "safe mode" state that was pretty agressive in order to manage the battery. This would sometimes result in a user having to charge the E5 with a dedicated wall battery charger in order to get the battery out of this state (versus just using a powered USB port).
This mode will be a lot harder to hit now than previously and will avoid this situation for more users.
If anyone else is having an issue feel free to post and I'll do my best to get a resolution for you!
I actually meant to ask about this, thank you for addressing it! I have the E5 and use it literally every day, but I've noticed that the battery life dwindles pretty quick using it from phone > E5 over bluetooth even at moderate listening levels. Also, with Android 7.1 the bluetooth volume adjustment is stepped instead of linear which is incredibly aggravating. If I use the USB host port, volume is nice and linear but over bluetooth it seems like it only adjusts in ~10% increments. Very hard to find the right level. Adjusting on the phone or the device gets the same result.
