A THD of 0.05% is audible. It should be 0.01% or lower. Buy a JDS Labs DAC/amp instead.
Some of the best amps in the world like McIntosh or Pure Class A amps have real life THD distorsion rates up to 0,5% to 1% or more and are very musical and enjoyable. Most high quality speakers have real life THD of 3% more or less. Distorsion specs are irrelevant to Their musicality and is often inaudible.
Check conclusions of this article citing may studies on the subject of total harmonic distortion: http://www.audioholics.com/room-acoustics/human-hearing-reprise-part-4
You mean low fidelity. Distortion in DAC/amps inaudible if it is less than 0.01%
