I can get the standard X7 a lot cheaper here. However, it only has 1 ohm output impedance compared to the limited edition's 2.2 ohm.
Is the standard edition powerfull enough to drive the BeyerDynamic DT990 Premium 600 ohm, or should I pay the extra price to get the limited edition?

You got the two mixed up. The X7 standard has a 2.2 ohm output whereas the limited is 1 ohm. The LE has the same advertised maximum output impedance, however, it has a lower minimum (which mainly benefits sensitive, lower ohm audio devices). Both should have enough power for the DT990s based off the stats. You may want to do some research to see if anyone else has used the Beyers with the X7 though.
Exit: Did a bit of searching. The synergy between the X7 and DT990s makes the pairing not a great idea. Both devices are quite bright sounding and you'll have some harsh highs on your hands. The X7 will have enough power (barely) but the sound signature won't compliment the DT990s. You might want to look into a tube Amp pairing with the X7 if you decide to pick it up. Maybe the Vali could tame the highs on the 990s like it did on my K712s.

Thanks for the reply!
What do you think about the O2 Amp for the DT990s? I might pick that up so I can at least play the headphones, then I can order the X7 and return it (which is really easy here in Norway) if I'm not satisfied with the sound.

I'd expect the O2 to have a similar sound signature to the X7 (pretty flat) so it won't attenuate the brightness of the DT990 as much as a tube amp. A very interesting feature of the X7 is that you can swap out the op-amps http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=124715
