I just received my sxfi amp, but can't install the app. Google Play Store says that it is not available in my country, i.e. Thailand. So what do I do now. Thanks.
AniccaSeems like you're in the same predicament as I am, i.e. based on Thailand. Already contacted Creative's customer service & after going through hoops like showing proof of purchase, etc., which has nothing to do with the app availability on Playstore, they have yet to come back with any solutions.
If they expect us to be "wow" by just this DAC without the software, it's just mediocre.
Very disappointed with Creative if they expect us to pay premium dollars & be left on the lurch.
lNOFXlAlready tried, once app is open, it seems to search location & say " Item isn't available in your country". Odd thing is while "SXFI" is not available for Playstore download, "SXFI Air" which I presume is meant for 2nd gen wireless SXFI solutions is available.
JohnskyI have several hi-end headphones and better dac/amps, and wanted to use this only for watching movies in surround sound. I can't make the connection to my TV and was hoping the App would help do it. Thanks for your feedback. I'll wait to see what Creative says.
AniccaYes, same here. Tested out the SXFI DAC(w/o software) with my favorite Blue Ella planar headphones & frankly audio source from my PC sounds better than this SXFI DAC, let alone my portable X5 & X7 DAC.
Hoping that it'll prove to be better in a surround sound environment, but without the app installed, I'm very skeptical.
Just hope that we've not purchased some snake oil.
JohnskyHonestly, this is absolute snake oil. Any benefit from this product comes from having an external DAC and an amplifier that's a bit more powerful than what's in your phone. A picture of your head and ears is not going to provide any information substantial to changing phase for better sound. Frankly, I'm amazed that they haven't been sued yet over this 'amazing tech'.
Now, a 3D scan of the inside of your ears, custom headphones with drivers angled to better take advantage of your unique ear canal, combined with DSP? That might make a difference. DSP alone, based on a 2D picture? No. I'm left to assume they're just applying their normal aural tech to make the soundstage wider, and that's the supposed magnificent effect.
3geekfamilyAt the risk of sounding blunt..this comment is absolutely false. The customization has a TON of direct effect on how the SuperXfi effect is processed SPECIFIC to the USER. This is completely obvious if you take pictures of other people and load their profiles to compare between them.
I get it. After working for the company for all the years I have even I was skeptical and jaded. People can read this and say I'm "biased" because I work for the company but this tech is genuinely exciting and something new in the audio world.
Ear structure and facial structure have a huge amount of impact on how we perceive audio. By customizing per user we're able to customize how the SuperXfi chip is processing audio from devices and take it from a neutral state to a state where it's simulating being heard by the user in a specific space.
The technology is layered and customized per user. That's how we're able to get it to emulate room based speakers through headphones.
Countless people at trade shows and reviewers have experienced this. You don't win 15 best of CES awards with snake oil. Not in this day and age. If you haven't experienced it, I highly suggest you find a way to and hear for yourself. Customization makes a very big difference.
DigitalRonynFinally managed to get my hands on the SXFI app(Beta) with the help of Creative's customer service, thanks! Will test it out this weekend & heard how it goes.
Hope it's as impressive as seen on the Youtube reviews!
JohnskyAwesome! Let me know if you have any questions. You can reach out to us on our Subreddits as well if you want. I'm in them all the time. SoundBlasterOffical And CreativeSuperXfi.
AniccaHi Anicca,

TeamSXFIHi, I'm writing here because I sent an email twice but have yet to receive a response. Still can't get the sxfi app on my phone. Would like a solution. Thanks
AniccaHi Annica,
Do share your email address and I will look into getting you the help you need and access within the day! Apologies for the inconvenience and delay. Thank you!
DigitalRonynFinally managed to find the time to do some testing on it, while I just managed to pick up a HDMI to USB C cable.
Anyway, got the HDMI to USB C cable hooked up to my LG 4K Bluray player via HDMI(Audio Only) output with the settings set for HDMI Audio set on HDMI 2, which is the HDMI(Audio Only) physical output, FURY disc all ready to fire up, plugged the other end into the the SXFI and.....nothing happens! Not even able to power up the SXFI unit.
Thought the SXFI may be faulty, plugged into my phone & it powers up just fine.
HELP!!
