That being said, awesome knife. Have two of the CRKT versions and a midtech. People slighting the steel are wrong, the steel is just fine for daily use. I like my supersteels but AUS8 is fine for regular use and easier to sharpen. Frankly, feel like this one is punching a bit above it's street price. I like my midtech because the designer had his hands on it and there are some little design differences, but overall CRKT stayed true to the design. For the price difference, it is hard to recommend the midtech or custom when the mass produced version is so good. CRKT really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.
The beauty of this knife is in the design. It is a dream to hold and Jeff Park really dialed in the details to make it the "perfect" EDC for most people's needs. The lines of the scales serving for design and grip, the upswept FFG blade, the short deep carry clip, the effortless ball bearing action, the stellar manufacturing (each one I have handled has been perfectly centered and had fall shut action with a little jiggle), the lightweight materials, the sharpening choil, the simplicity, the lines, and on and on.
I'm not sure if my recent acquisitions have just been lucky. Have heard in the past that centering was an issue, action was just meh, etc. Also heard the knives were made in China. Boxes of both of mine are marked Taiwan. Maybe they improved QC with a change in facilities.
Everyone has different tastes, it may not be for everyone. But if you are on the fence at all, this is a knife you need to spend some time with to appreciate just how great it is.
