The Lucas Burnley–designed CRKT Akari fixed blade looks like something you might encounter in a jungle. Thanks to its ergonomic shape and full-tang composition, it could certainly get you out of a jam in one, too Read More
Small with a bit of heft, this one is unique.
Sheath is horrendous, renders the knife difficult to use. I must find a replacement.
Not a friendly or cute knife, it stands out in my collection as something different.
The wrapped handle is nice, grippy.
Its going to see a lot of daily use.
Im sure this is a quality blade like and I imagine anybody who buys it will be happy with it on that front, but my. God. That has to be the ugliest knife I've seen in my life.
It's like they took the worst parts of every style of knife making...they took the awkward handle of a Japanese knife and stuck it on something with a blade half the size. The curve of the handle looks more like it melted that way than anything else, like it was left in a glovebox in the hot sun underneath something heavy.
Don't get me started on the green texture underneath...as far as the actual "beads", they actually look cool on their own, like raindrops, but cram them into a space that small and give them a sickly green color and you end up with a blade that looks like it has a venereal disease.
The blade's pattern isn't doing it any favors either. It's like they couldn't decide between "fake aged" and "tribal", and the two were haphazardly lumped together. Again the green does no favors, and combined, it ends up looking like a rejected stage prop from Legends of the Hidden Temple, with that gaudy "fake aged" look and the "mysterious" green that somehow just doesn't quite cut it.
Okay, sorry that was pretty ridiculous, I think I'm about good. Don't mind me, I don't know what I'm saying...I just had to let that out! Like I said, I'm sure it's a great blade, it's just gotta be one of the ugliest looking knives I've ever seen!!!
Looks like a cool little blade and package, but does anyone else have a problem buying stuff when the shipping charges are over half the price of the item? Not sure why shipping is so much on certain items (especially when they're small and/or light).
