The Amazon.COM price is $47.27, ( https://amzn.to/2Y5MSwF ) so this time Massdrop does have a better deal.
If you are reading the comments below, how Amazon has the same price, that is old news, things have changed.
Most of the time, Massdrop hits on a good deal... The value may include something different, something odd, something really special that may not be available anywhere else, something exclusive, upgraded materials, and/or it almost always it's offered at a fair or lower (much lower) price. This knife doesn't appear to fit anyone of those conditions :(
OK... wait a minute... it is kind of cool looking, but... that's it I guess.
I've had this knife with the wood scales for the past month and a half and have to say that I absolutely love it! It has a great look and feel. And the tip-down carry doesn't bother me in the least, nor the steel. I actually paid less than this offer for mine on sale, so it's a good looking knife that I'm not going to be distraught over if I lose.
The bone material used in the M4 I received had a chip and appeared to have tooling marks where it attached to the metal, as if some type of hand saw were used and made irregular end patterns. Guess I can't be too picky given the price. Blade needed touch up sharpening on my strop and the assisted opening hung up a few times until I used a bit of machine oil and open/closed it about 40 times. The oil loosened it up and some shavings came out the top but were extremely small. After that it worked fine. With arthritic hands and missing wrist bones, my grip strength is not what it use to be.
I've actually been looking for a nice 2 tone / bolstered look handle with natural materials, and this handle is mighty classic looking
What I HAVEN'T been looking for is spring assisted, tip down carry 8cr13mov 😒
HballLol no worries. Sooo many to look at, so easy to confuse them.
The swordfish is a very nice knife. My only real complaint there is that the detent isn't strong enough to stop a "gravity assist" opening. Other than that I highly recommend 👍
Picked this up for $17 at Academy Sports, one lucky clearance sale long ago. Normally sold for $50. Well-made, handsome knife, though the blade is too thick for my preference. Biggest downside is the jimped liner sticking up at the thumb; I have never been able to get comfortable with it. Still, it gets more compliments than almost any other knife I've carried, thanks to its distinctive coloring.
