I'm in for one. This is my first time ordering. I'm so frugal that it's taken me 2 years to commit to something. I've been at the final button like 20 times though. Kinda pathetic. I'm excited for the knife though, I've been wanting a Leek for like 6 months now and this looks just as good. AUS8 I think is better than 410 too isn't it?

ThighmasterThe Leek's blade is made of 14C28N, not 410 (some models have 410 handles). According to this site, AUS-8 and 14C28N are basically in the same class of steel (AUS-8 is rated slightly lower for edge retention and corrosion resistance, but higher for ease of sharpening):

neil.rOh, I see, you're right. I read the info wrong. I was trying to compare the two when I was deciding on whether to purchase the Eros and I guess I just skimmed it too quickly. I'm probably going to get a Leek anyway because I don't have any Kershaw's and that knife is beautiful to me. These type of knives allow me to grind a convex edge very easily.

ThighmasterThe Leek is definitely a beautiful knife - I have one with orange aluminum handles (liner lock). I prefer a deep-carry clip, but I'm getting over it. I've almost talked myself into getting an all-steel frame lock version. :-)
How much thickness do you need for a convex edge? At its thickest, my Leek's blade is 2.3mm and it's less than 0.5mm just behind the edge. The Kershaw site doesn't say for sure, but I think this is a hollow-ground blade - it certainly feels thinning toward the edge.
If you get a Leek and put a convex edge on it, I'd love to see what it look like.

neil.rJust bought grey and blackwash leek knife is flawless!! And also have to say have the blur knockout and link and the leek is definitely right up there with all of them and in the edc rotation.

neil.rI can't believe how waited this long to buy a leek titanium handle blackwash blade and the knife is absolutely beautiful.Happy i added it to my rotation.

JmasI didn't know the Leek was available with a Ti handle. Is it a special run model? Post a photo? I'd love to see it. :-)

neil.rYes the leek i just purchased has grey titanium finnish with blackwash. Don't know how to do photo on massdrop but i will try i have part #thats on blade and box.Part#1660grybw

Looks like this? That fits what I know about the Leek better: anodized aluminum with a liner lock, not titanium. Still, a titanium frame lock Leek would be neat. Anyone know of a titanium Kershaw? I know ZT has several.

neil.rIf you have the ability to sharpen your knives and don't mind doing so on a regular basis, then any stainless would be fine. Additionally, often people make the mistake of using the wrong tool for a task. If I were opening cardboard boxes all day long, I would use a box cutter with replaceable blades, not an EDC blade....that is if I were a human :-) The newer powdered steels made by Crucible are so good with respect to edge retention, that all one really has to do is hone starting with black and moving up to green compound....or honing with carbide. My coverman picked up Spyderco Military and Paramilitary 2s in CPM 110V....he brought the angles down to 17 degrees per side and has been amazed at the edge holding ability of the steel. It has been said that 110 is more prone to chipping and if this happens he will bring it to 20 or 22 degrees per side....or use a secibdar bevel.
