Haha, wow. Just yesterday I was thinking how cool it would be for one of these field strip knives in something like a wharncliffe--the sort of blade you actually use at work
great design, poor choice of steel. 14c28n would be great, and the md price should be nearer $60 - then you might actually sell thousands instead of a few dozen, but good luck in any case
Oh yeah, the Pendleton Lite! I'd looked at that one long and hard because I just like the blade geometry and handle but ultimately I couldn't justify buying one when I have so many Moras sitting around. Also Cold Steel's heat treat of 4116 seems to be hit or miss and some people didn't like the sheath very much. I know a lot of people don't like the Mora standard sheath, but it's perfect for me. Let me know if you ever pull the trigger on the Pendleton.
I have the original field-strip CRKT and like it but that breakdown wheel and the gimping next to it scape up my hand every time I reach into my pocket.
Yeah, the shipping speed is pretty comparable between MD and Amazon this time around.
As for the knife, I'm not sure about the whole 1.4116 steel - everything I can find online says this is the same steel as in SAKs, which, if true, makes this seem pretty overpriced. Who knows, though, maybe they have a magic heat-treat. Would've much rather seen D2, S30V, 154CM, or something more familiar.
