Is it just me, or is CRKT starting to put out more competitive items?
They're still kind of goofy in their catalog and make some odd choices, but it's nice to see their well designed knives start to catch up to the 2011 standard for budget knives.
OmniseedI dunno. Still looks like 8cr for almost $40 to me. Why buy this over a tangram, Bestech or riuke with better steel and quality for similar money?

I really like this design, but it needs to lose at least an ounce off the weight.

Got it today, it's a really nice simple design. Mine has about a 1% lock-up though, needs to wear in a bit before I can trust using it.

This is one of the nicer looking knives I've seen from CRKT, I just wish the blade steel was a higher quality. At the same price point you can get similar flippers from Kizer or Bestech with D2 tool steel blades.

MichaelHeartlessI'm right there with you. Hopefully, we might see an upgrade in the future, maybe. The writing is definitely on the wall for companies like CRKT and Kershaw. My hope is that brands like Tekut, Tangram, Ruike, and Real Steel force other makers to move away from 8cr into better steels. The crazy part is that Ruike and Real Steel are mostly built around Sandvik 14c28n which was commissioned by Kershaw in the first place!

LMNOBeastAgree with you about the 14c28n, but I doubt CRKT and Kershaw are in any financial trouble. They still sell lots of knives on Amazon or at Walmart to the level of consumer who only asks "does it come sharp"?
