IATerakahnUnless you're a collector (for a $37 budget knife?) or hardcore user (with a stiletto geometry? don't tell me what you do for a living), most people won't be able to tell the difference.
AUS 8 is just fine, heck for most people 440C is more than enough. The most important thing is heat treating and I'm sure CRKT is more than competent.
This knife is well made, good looking and uses milled aluminum handles, all for $37; at this price something has to give and that turns out to be relatively "boring" blade steel.
If exotic steel is your thing you can always go for Spydercos with their sexy sexy VG10.
