Looking at the materials I'm a bit baffled. For example: Why are they using 6061 aluminium? 1000 series aluminium can't be that hard to get and it's probably cheaper than 6061. It makes more sense to me to have more of the element on display... on display. Same goes for Titanium but I give them a pass here because I don't know how hard it is to get. Now I know that pure iron is hard to get nowadays, but "cast iron" is a lot closer since it's a eutectic combination of iron and carbon (about 4.5%). It'll also develop a really rad patina as it oxidizes. Maybe they opted for 303 because it's cheap and won't oxidize as fast? Also: anyone know what Zinc alloy it is? The rest of them are specified but if I'm going to teach anyone about elements I'd like to know what's there. Aluminum – Al: 6061 aerospace grade aluminum (96–98% aluminum)  Titanium – Ti: Aerospace grade Ti-6-4 titanium (90% titanium) Iron – Fe: 303 stainless steel (80% Iron) Copper – Cu: C110 (~99% copper) Tungsten – W: High purity tungsten-carbide (92–94% Tungsten) Zinc – Zn: Zinc Alloy (95% Zinc) Magnesium – Mg: AZ31B Magnesium Alloy (97% Magnesium)

Why is this listed under Writing? Makes as much sense to me if it were under EDC.

tomtomtomThe 6 piece set doesn’t include the expensive tungsten cube, while the 5 and 7 piece sets do.

Unfortunate that I'm late to the party and the 7-piece is sold out. Otherwise, would've impulse bought. I wonder how it would look if there were a mirror polished version...

Purchased these back on indiegogo, and the most recent late last year for the additional cubes making it a 7 piece. Very cool set on the bookshelf. At the time, they offered coatings and non coatings. I opted for the non coated ones, which allow patina to occur over time. The only disadvantage - it becomes a little difficult to read some of the numbers over time. But also a great characteristic.

Tantalum cubes are pretty cool (super heavy), corrosion proof and bio-inert , but too expensive to include at this price.

Buying these because a Kickstarter I backed four years ago still hasn’t delivered 4 metal cubes even though it was multiple times the price ~_~
