Do I Need to Lube My Keyboard Switches?
Figure 1: Sometime around here is a good time to ask that question... If you’re new to the mechanical keyboard hobby, I have no doubt that planning your first keyboard build is a bit of a daunting task. To be entirely honest with you, it’s only a tiny bit less daunting for your second or even third keyboard builds should you stay around a little while longer. You’ve got the keyboard itself to worry about, stabilizers, keycaps, and even switches on top of all of the intangible marks you want your dream keyboard to hit. Switches are especially daunting right out of the gate as there’s just so many options out there to pick from – each with their own unique specifications, manufacturers, and more. Yet, in spite of all of these differences between switches, time and time again I find people always asking about lubing switches as one of their chief concerns when it comes to picking some up. With countless numbers of content creators talking about lubing switches, its no...

Because they've seen matt3o's work everywhere they decided to take him on. This final design was chosen in amongst themselves, who happen to be ultra conservative when it comes to any key-set design.
So don't pile crap onto matt because he has given them a chance to upgrade their key-sets and who knows what that will lead into the future. Proud of the fact that I own virtually all his designs and will continue to own more of his valued work.
Anyone coming here to tyre-kick this Group Buy shall get my steel capped size 16s wedged up their arses.
That, compounded with the fact that in his actual interest check thread on GH, he had a whole bunch of ideas that he proposed to others. Many of which WERE original colorways and really cool designs. Something that couldn't be made with the existing RF sets on the market. And he chose to do this one, without really anyone's feedback. Right out of the blue.
And it doesn't help that most enthusiast Topre users are on HHKB/FC660Cs, over the Realforce (unless you are talking about business users, which won't be ordering this for their keyboards). Which alienates a huge portion of the Topre userbase right off the start. BECAUSE this design is so polarizing and requires specific patterning of the caps, you can't really adapt this keyset to those boards.
Matt3o had the chance to make a set that wasn't polarizing to many others eyes. Something that could be fully loved by many, like Granite, Hyperfuse, or SoWaRe. Something along those lines. Something that is adaptable to many different Topre keyboards. And instead went with a colorway that not many people like. And because of that, not many people are going to purchase this, which is going to show Topre that there is no interest in special keysets, which defeats the entire purpose for Matt3o developing these. All because of a really honest to goodness stupid decision to use SS as the colorway.
So go ahead, try and kick that steel toed boot up people's arses for speaking out the truth about this keyset. Praise his work where it is due. And give crap for his work where it is due. People make wrong decisions, and giving them constructive criticism helps them make better decisions in the future.
Second if you think you could do better than why haven't you fronted up with your designs then?
Yeah the tyre kickers a rearing their tiny, ugly, little heads to bitch and whine on something that is far better looking then their own standard crapola key-sets, sitting on their HHKBs.
Really pathetic having losers chime in about someone's work, when they themselves couldn't pick any colours out from a Bunnings store ; )
Another thing of note copying any other colour-way produced either by SP or GMK won't win any awards especially when the companies that own those designs decide to sue anyone wanting to use it.
It's always easy to rip off someone else's design but you're putting the client into trouble later on when someone decides to seek compensation and restitution.
Matt3o had done well here in making a colour-way that will look far better in real life than in these illustrations because that has always been the way he works.
Every colour connoisseur thinks they know better until the final design is delivered. Then those same detractors go away, contributing nothing at all and their names disappear into nothingness. But Matt3o stands alone in producing something that lasts which some are crazy jealous of. Maybe look into your own selfish hearts and examine your own pathetic need to kick someone for doing something, compared to most here who are content to sit on their lazy arses and complain incessantly.
Nothing worse than noobie scum who think they know someone that well to start calling them names and whatnot.....hehe.
Anyway, this is fun to watch.
Those are the type of people that bitch and moan then try and bring down others for their own selfish reasons. Never participates in anything but always there to piss on everyone else.
That is the sort of shit stain that needs to be bleached out of existence ; )
