After having bought/resold 25 headphones and iems in the last 5 years (?!) I finally settled on the shure se846. Due to their cost I work, putt around listening to music, watch TV (apt-x LL BT adapter), and commonly sleep with them.
Love the low end on these things (passive low end filter is legit) and the fit is pretty good but I never forget they're there.
How would these compare? And how would they stand up to say sleeping in them? (I commonly use them as earplugs in the morning as well since stupid loud birds get up before I do and the isolation is pretty great)
Original Ei.xx were based on SE846 - like 90-95% identical frequency response. These are based on Ei.xx with pretty tight match in frequency response but a bit more highs - in other words if you like SE846 you will like FIBAE ME too in my opinion.
Some of our customers sleep in IEMs so it is possible, we don't really recommend that - we do have silicone earplugs in our offer (separately), which are far more suitable for sleeping.
