Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I received my Ei.XX last week also but so far having mixed feelings compared to others. Prior to receiving the Ei.XX, the UERM was the only CIEM I owned. Most of my history with audio is through headphones and full sized speakers.
The fit of my UERM isn't perfect, it was made with a 3D scanning tool and although it is comfortable, it feels like it could be better. I went for the Ei.XX after reading about the fit and thought an ear mold may provide better results than digital only. Unfortunately, the fit of the Ei.XX is extremely tight and causes a lot of pressure inside my ear canals. I have only been able to listen to a handful of songs before it becomes too uncomfortable. It takes a scary amount of force to remove them from my ears.
As for the sound, I have more disappointments than highlights. I gave it a little time for physical burn-in as well as mental adjusting. Although the bass quantity lives up to the hype, I don't find it very detailed. The sound as a whole is a bit veiled, regardless of using it amped or directly from my phone. I find the quantity of bass to be satisfying but the rest of the sound does not match the price.
If you enjoy bass, it is definitely a smooth and easy to listen to CIEM. The problem is it has been quite genre specific for me. Modern pop and rap work well but other genres sound neutered to me. If you consider the UERM to have an airy sound, the Ei.XX is the opposite with a weighty sound, which could be good or bad depending on your sound and music preferences.
The reason I wanted to try something different than the UERM is to get a little more bass and a little more smoothness in the treble, the Ei.XX takes a step towards that direction but loses all the detail and clarity I enjoy.
Not sure if I'll send the Ei.XX back right away for a refit or try to sell it instead and cut my losses. Maybe I was expecting too much based on other comments and reviews, guess I'll see what I can work out with Piotr.
