Go for this strap only if you like the vintage, worn out look because the strap's inner side frays a lot (and is rough on the skin) and the outer part looks used very quickly. I ordered two and one not just looked different but the leather quality differed as well.
I ordered 2 of these straps.
A 24 mm for a Luminox and a 26 for a Bertucci.
The 26 mm is fine.
The 24 mm stretches like a rubber band.
You can get much better straps from Bana Suisse or German Bunds for around $30.
These are Nato "style" bands so I assume most are going on field or combat style watches. For me durability is key along with craftsmanship and finish.
At least the 24mm definitely lacks in durability and both have raw edges.
That being said I called DaLuca.
The person that helped me was Christopher. He was great and promptly replaced the strap that I had to punch 3 new holes in the first week due to stretch.
I really liked the prompt service but this is a strap that Drop claimed had a retail of $160 or something stupid like that so great personell and prompt returns is the least they can do.
Terrible watch band that will stretch until unusable one day
20mm thins to 18mm where buckled from stretching after off-and-on wearing over two weeks. Never been wet since that would break my Chinese knock-off watch. This leather should be used for wallets and handbags, not watchbands or belts. Garbage.
I'm a month in using the product and I have no major complaints. I quite like it.
It's a bit silly product for sure. Leather is not a good choice for a material to be used in such a high stress setting as a NATO usually is. It will stretch, it will be sensitive to water and sweat, it will not last a lifetime and so on. Obviously it cannot be used the same way any nylon NATO would be. And yet I want to use it.
The finishing out of the package isn't that great. The cut of the leather seemed too rough and the stitching is not the best. Seems a tad overpriced in my opinion. Leather has seemed to better with age (only if not subject to abuse). It has stretched a bit and I am glad to have picked a one with a keeper to house the inevitable extra length. Started out with a bit uncomfortable length at the beginning, but will be able to fold the exess in the keeper in hopefully the near future. What comes to colour, the natural one was a bit darker I expeted, but once the leather is bent colouring is close to what expected.
it a good looking strap, and would work for smaller watches. I bought this for a 24 mm diver (Makara octopus) and it flops around on the stretchy leather. Pretty much useless now as I only have one 24mm watch.
