Da Luca makes some of the best leather watch straps money can buy, and while they are expensive, they are well worth the cost and Da Luca is willing to stand 100% behind their product and work with you on any issues. Can't recommend them enough. This is my 3rd shell cordovan strap and I guarantee it won't be my last.
Props to Da Luca for being active and responsive both here on the discussion board and with their customer support emails.
Nice strap for the price. I find the thickness is in line with other shell cordovan watch straps I've purchased, as well as the factory strap from Nomos. I think the only complaint I would have is that notice more dye rub off on my wrist than other straps but it's lessening. Overall I think it's nice bang for the buck, though there are better finished straps out there if you want to spend $100+
I have the green nato version, and it's great! It's a little expensive (especially considering I'm wearing it on a Seiko 5), but this one is much better quality than the Da Luca Chromexcel, which was way too thin.
I would most likely get this again in a different colour if this drop became available.
Just received my strap today. 5/22/2019. I added it onto my Marathon GSAR and Honestly, I'm just so-so on it. The entire design is really good but I don't know if it's just mine and I got sort of a not so great one but the leather starts out at one end a nice hefty shell cordovan but by the time it gets down to the watch strap holes, it's very very thin to the point that I worry about the strength and longevity of the holes, not to mention it just kind of makes it feel a bit on the cheap side. just my .02. I'm not hating on it but I'm not loving it either.
Poor quality control. The holes for the buckle are punched in the leather in a diagonal line across the strap. When I called the company to see about exchanging it, I just got voicemail. I left a detailed message and a callback number but they haven’t bothered to return my call. POS customer service too.
Disappointing. Too thick at the watch end, but dangerously thin by the time you get to the holes. The keeper is awkward, and the band itself is far too long.
BlorckThe nature of the leather has quite a big variance in thickness per section of each shell piece. It’s the best leather on planet earth and its made that way so there isn’t much we can do to alter that. You can always flip the watch over and press the bars into the back of the watch which might help to get a thicker strap on your watch.
