"Perfect companion to HD650 and works with iOS and Tidal's Masters MQA" It was a 6 day delivery to Paris free from taxes.  The device has all the qualities an audiophile device should have and made a perfect match to my sennheiser HD650. After a 15 minute warm up and a 100 hour burn in is required it shows up all that you can expect from a high-end dac/amp. I guess the reason for the power button were placed in the back is never to turn it off. Sufficient power to make the quietest classical passages loud without noise and no perceived distortion in any volume level. The notes have texture, edge and contour. The refinement exceeded my expectations. The DSD presentation is noting less but AWESOME! Of course it's valid only for original DSD records. All the formats sounded better in bitperfect (without upsampling). Tidal's software unfolded MQA showed benefits as well. One consideration: they shipped it with a Chinese Cisco domestic router power adaptor instead the linear one, made in Taiwan, referenced in both the manual and their website. The device spec is 12V / 1.5A and the supplied adaptor 12V / 3A.  To pair with iOS devices, you will need the Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter Apple MK0W2AM/A  (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F7KJDIM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and follow this sequence: 1 - plug the USB-Lightning cable to a power source. 2 - plug the lightning to the adapter 3 - plug the adaptor to the iOS device 4 - last, plug the DAC USB to the adapter Some audiophile apps run better if started after the previous steps. Did anybody get a different Power Adaptor? The overall experience joining this drop was amazing.  Many thanks to Massdrop for this opportunity!

The power is impressive, I have yet to turn volume knob past 9:00 o’clock (headphones include Sennheiser HD 6XX & Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee).  It has a very natural treble and just enough bass which pairs well with the Sennheiser 6XX and 58X. Overall t is a is a very warm sounding player. The only issue I would note is that it sometimes takes a few attempts to recognize the sound source and connection gets broken with any little movement of the cable.
EzDuzIt61I didn't have any connection issues. In fact the USB feels very stable. I have mine connected to my notebook and sometimes it take between the desk to the sofa without any interruptions. You should try other computers/cables and call for the warranty if is the case since it is not a normal behaviour.

Excellent sound with a black background, very good detail and a fairly large sound stage.

squeakath Now that I have had this DAC/Amp for more than a month, I would like to add to my first my impressions. My favorite headphones are Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro's, rated at 250 ohms. The 250 ohms probably make a difference. The amp pushes these headphones without any trouble at all. The highest volume that I can use comfortably is with the volume knob at 11 o'clock. With these headphones, there are no shrill notes, nothing to make you cringe. Across the sound spectrum, this DAC/Amp sounds really good and balanced. Deep voices like Louis Armstrong's and Johnny Cash's sound great and tubas and bass drums have a lot of punch but don't overwhelm. A lot of detail always comes through. On the high end, sopranos come through clear and strong, although I think the lower end of the spectrum is represented a little better than the high end. Paired with a Speakercraft BB275 amplifier and two Polk Audio Monitor 30 Series 2 speakers, the DAC sounds even better. In summary, I enjoy listening to any type of music on my Daart Canary, with or without headphones. For the cost, this is a good choice for DAC/Amp.
