Named “Best Buy” by Backpacker Magazine, the Danner 453 mid hiker boot takes inspiration from traditional mountaineering boots. The upper is made of full-grain nubuck or waxed leather with a Gore-Tex lining that locks water out while allowing sweat and heat to pass through. Danner’s Terra Force support system provides enhanced heel-to-toe energy transfer, as well as side support for additional maneuverability. A thick, scuff-proof toe cap protects your toes from rocks and minimizes wear on the front of the boot. Finally, the TFX outsole has a triangular lug pattern that pushes debris out to keep you glued to the trail, regardless of the conditions.
