How well does the Darkvoice do with low impedance/sensitive headphones? Will they damage headphones that are easy to drive?
Pretty much any amp can kill a low-impedance headphone if you turn the volume up loud enough (known as 'blowing out the driver'). Just turn down the volume knob and you'll be fine.
What if I turn down the source (Like in Windows) and turn up the volume gain on the amp? Would that damage it?
No, actually! I recommend doing that so you get a more 'tube sound'. That warmth comes from your amp actually amplifying the sound, so if your DV barely has to do any amplification, you won't be distorting the audio all that much (to get that characature tube sound).
As long as any sound getting to your headphones isn't loud enough to blow them out, any way you get the sound to your headphones is fine.
